Over the course of the past few years, there have been numerous attempts to introduce and pass a Federal Employment Protections Bill, most notably the Employment Non-Discrimination Act or ENDA. In the various iterations of ENDA, Gender Identity / Gender Expression language has come and gone and in again, though with the sub-issue of bathroom use, always seeming to gather the attention. With the U.S. Congress now controlled by conservative elements, the likelyhood of such legislation being signed into law any time soon, is extremely dim.
In Missouri, which is an ‘At-Will’ State, which means one can be fired from their jobs being trans, gay, lesbian or bisexual, it is imperative we look at the resource of the Missouri Non-Discrimination Act (MONA) to be passed, and provide protections such as in employment and public accomodations.
TransHaven urges every resident in Missouri to contact you state representative and senators to tell them you want MONA passed. More information on MONA can be found in this description from PROMO:
